About Us
Home Federal Credit Union was founded in 1950 for a twofold purpose:
1. To promote thrift among its members by offering to them a means for making safe and regular investments.
2. To enable its members to obtain loans at a reasonable rate of interest for worthwhile purposes.
The credit union was organized for the employees of Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of West Virginia and The American Telephone and Telegraph Company in 8 counties and their family members. Western Electric was later added.
Through the years the companies have changed to Bell Atlantic, AT&T, Lucent, Frontier, Verizon and we acquired through merger Eastern W.Va Tel Federal Credit Union and PET Federal Credit Union bringing the total to 26 counties being served by our credit union.
Over the years we have merged in the following credit unions; Barbour County Education Credit Union, Corhart Employees Credit Union, FESTA Federal Credit Union, ABC Credit Union and Randolph County School Employees Credit Union.
We have also added the employees of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Harrison County to our field of membership.
Our credit union strives by the philosophy “People Helping People.” If you are not a member and in our field of membership please consider becoming a member of a local credit union who strives to make our members our main priority.
